We are currently looking for Field Technicians. (Pay $18 to $25 /hr, 40 to 50 hrs / wk)
Starting pay for the right inexperienced candidate is $18/hr. We will provide opportunities for additional training and experience to get the right candidate to $20/hr within 6 months. However, if you are are already certified and experienced, a significantly higher compensation will be considered.
Our company provides backflow valve testing and maintenance on water distribution lines for cities, utilities, and private customers. We will train the right candidates, but prior experience in plumbing, irrigation, backflow testing, or Fire Protection Systems, will be considered for higher entry pay.
Work vehicle, tools, and tablet, are provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Find valves and water lines.
Test Valves to make sure they work right.
Repair underground and above ground valve assemblies in utility easements and customer properties.
Replace valve parts.
Record all work in tablet based software.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be self disciplined and honest.
Must be able to work completely unsupervised (after appropriate training).
Knowledge of proper testing and repair of valves (will be trained).
Prior knowledge of Backflow Testing will be given priority in candidate selection
Knowledge of common plumbing hand tools and power tools.
Inspecting and testing valves (will be trained).
Communicate effectively.
Ability to follow safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Valid Florida driver’s license is required.
Must have a clean driving record and criminal background.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work involves moderate to heavy work outside in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift objects and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
